Layouts Confirmed

Olney - OO gauge - OMRC

This extensive DCC layout is currently under construction and was exhibited to illustrate the considerable progress that had been made since last year. This is a long term project and with the Club meeting on a weekly basis, it is recognised that the project will take a number of years to complete.

The main scenic boards are nearing completion and work on the fiddle yard boards is well advanced. It is anticipated that construction works will be completed during the next year to enable the full layout to be exhibited at our 2017 Exhibition.

The layout features the Model Electronic Railway Group (MERG) CBUS system to achieve point and signal control. Thus reducing greatly the number of wires going across table joins.

Ashley Hill - 3mm gauge - Mark Haynes

Ashley Hill is a fictional location somewhere on the BR (Western Region), although you may also see earlier Great Western Railway stock running. The layout has been built to 3mm scale, utilising 12mm gauge Peco track. The buildings are all scratch built, with some modelled on those at Lambourne.

Harbourne - OO gauge - Shaun Greet

BR (Western Region) 1968-1972. A truncated branch line serving a rural station and goods yard. Most trains are hauled by Hymek and Class 22 diesels, with local services covered by Diesel Multiple Units.

Wainhouse Corner Bossiney - 00 gauge - Chris Toyer

This DCC layout, built by OMRC member, Chris Toyer, is set in the countryside of the North Cornish coastline in the blue diesel era of the 1970's. The layout features a diesel maintenance depot, refuelling facilities and a stabling yard.

East Key Ferry - OO gauge - Mick and Chris Payne

A small Cornish harbour station serving a ferry across the estuary and local fisheries.

Rosenearth - N gauge - Peter Johnston

Rosneath depicts a small Scotish station in the mid 1970's, located on the north bank of the Clyde, that is the terminus of an imagined branch line from the West Highland line at Garelochhead.
